Machiavelli's Desert ReviewA Chernobyl-type nuclear disaster, murders disguised as suicides, corruption, nanotechnology, political conspiracy, and more abound in Canadian author Lawrence Uhlin's debut novel, Machiavelli's Desert. Canada's sovereignty is challenged to the brink in a thriller that takes the reader from Ottawa to Washington D.C. and from the Grand Caymans to Kamloops, British Columbia.
The horrific meltdown-explosion of a nuclear power reactor opens up the story in a small pacific Island called Arnivan. I was immediately hooked by the author's attention to detail in describing the disaster. The island's population is devastated and the environment polluted. The facility is a CANDU reactor designed, built, and installed by Canada.
Scientist Dr. Claire Frenette is found dead shortly after revealing to a rookie politician how she believes the reactor meltdown is the result of government financial cutbacks to scientific programs. Will Headley is a government staffer with a gambling problem. A mysterious Russian-sounding man known as Renakes has a solution to Headley's dept predicament. Daley Whitman is a blue collar criminal sprung from jail for a promise of a favour to Canada Corrections. An ailing veteran senator is Whitman's chosen confidant in his dilemma. CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) Intelligence Officer, Mari Volser, at the senator's request, investigates Whitman and later Dr. Frenette. Meanwhile the World Court is poised to charge Canada for crimes against humanity for the Arnivan catastrophe. Reparations to the island nation will certainly bankrupt Canada. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nicholas Plato is charged with keeping Canada afloat in its most desperate hour. Plato has been offered a chance to purchase advanced computer technology that could be the key to Canada's financial stability, or plunge the government into a scandal the likes of which the country has never before experienced. In the meantime, the Americans are poised to pick up the pieces and push forward their desires for Canada's vast natural resources.
I found Machiavelli's Desert to be one of the most dialogue heavy books I have ever read. Although the dialogue is authentic, many of the conversations continue for several pages and some for full chapters. I found myself craving a car chase, love scene, or fist fight to break up the constant conversation. Uhlin has created several fascinating point-of-view characters and he uses each effectively to tell his story; but none is a clear cut protagonist in whom we can become truly invested.
Uhlin shows his considerable knowledge of Canadian politics and culture. He questions international policies, morals, and values and he examines how doing the obvious wrong thing can benefit the greater good. The characters are interesting and well drawn with vivid descriptions. Uhlin has infused enough suspense while pacing the story in a way that keeps us guessing, without giving away too much, as he sets up a whopper of a twist at the end. Machiavelli's Desert is an entertaining, quick read with a wonderful opening and a satisfying conclusion and is recommended to readers who enjoy political espionage thrillers.
Machiavelli's Desert Overview
Canada's natural resources - water, oil, mining and forestry are in jeopardy of almost certain takeover by foreign interests, and the very sovereignty of the nation is in imminent danger of collapse. Machiavelli's Desert takes the reader on a colorful voyage of mystery, intrigue and greed across Canada to Washington, Houston, Grand Cayman Island, the British Virgin Islands and to the island of Arnivan whose future is threatened because of a Canadian CANDU Reactor meltdown.

In the British Columbia Interior we meet a man owing a debt to the federal prison system that is to be redeemed by, of all things, a vasectomy. In Ottawa Canadian Security Intelligence Service Officer Mari Volser searches for a motive to explain a Canadian scientist's mysterious death on the eve of revealing to a recently elected and naively idealistic Member of Parliament important instances of the government's neglect and complicity. In Houston a detective police sergeant investigates the disappearance of a brilliant, quirky microbiologist. A forty foot sloop named the Mariposa is spotted by a contract psychologist in Grand Cayman Island's Pig Sty Harbour and days later is seen again by the man at a marina in the Sunshine Coast - thousands of kilometers distant.

The Prime Minister of Canada is offered a technological discovery that could be the country's salvation or its embarrassment. His decision making takes him to Tortola where the reader listens in to a conversation of a ramshackle Caribbean beach bar owner and the country's leader as they swap stories of moral metaphor and rhythm and blues history while Canada's sovereignty is increasingly challenged and its citizens face the loss of their national identity.

Through the clamor and chaos of Canada's turmoil a political hero emerges and another dies. Machiavelli's Desert is a book of espionage, intrigue and controversy that tests the strength of values existing in international and national politics. When does a profound wrong become a moral right? The characters in Machiavelli's Desert play out life-threatening, life-taking danger among thieves, politicians and the court of the world that in the end suggests the test of strength is pushed to a point of apathetic resignation or a new world order.

Machiavelli's Desert is a book that looks closely at a political systems designed primarily to achieve power for power's sake at the expense of moral integrity and the well-being of the common people–society. It is a book wrapped in the settings, characters, scenarios and adventure that allow for an entertaining read as well as a consideration of values beyond the individual ego.

Machiavelli's Desert builds suspense carefully and strategically leading the reader to a surprising and unexpected conclusion.

Betrayal: An Interactive Novel ReviewBetrayal is a hair-raising page-turner, a beautifully constructed novel rooted firmly in a little-known historical context, that of American experimentation with chemical and nuclear weapons iin the far north. Kathy Kaluk, daughter of a New England mother and an Eskimo father, returns to her native Alaska to take a research job, and is soon doing more research than her superiors want her to do. The involvement of the FBI, not only in covering up the tremendous damage caused by testing in the arctic but in efforts to recruit student moles, is described in harrowing detail, as are the effects of radioactive material on traditional hunting grounds where animals become radioactive by eating contaminated grass and people who eat the animals die of radiation poisoning. This is a thorough exposé, presented in very interesting and readable form.Betrayal: An Interactive Novel Overview ‘We have to distrust each other. It is our only defense against betrayal.'Deep in a rugged section of Alaska, something's making people ill. It's cancer - and it's striking dozens of laborers and soldiers who worked there on a nuclear cleanup site. But when anti-nuclear activist Carrie Graham turns up evidence of the improper disposal of radioactive waste, it reveals something even more sinister. And the U.S. government will stop at nothing to prevent the information's release, even if it means putting an end to Graham's activities - permanently. A multi-voiced science thriller with far-reaching implications, Betrayal follows the repercussions stemming from nuclear, biological and chemical weapons tests during the early days of the Cold War and beyond. From spirited protests at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Northern California, to treacherous intrigue waged inside the ivory towers of academia, Betrayal takes you inside the struggle to expose a massive nuclear cover-up where even those on the same side don't dare trust each other.Truly an interactive novel, Betrayal is fully integrated with the Web site: www.betrayal-interactivenovel.com. The site is packed with supplemental information and primary sources to increase understanding, while empowering readers to share their thoughts on nuclear issues through an online community forum.

The Malacca Conspiracy ReviewIt's the Fourth of July, and rather fitting that I've just turned the final page of Don Brown's new geopolitical thriller, The Malacca Conspiracy, as the book has a decidedly patriotic feel. With our nation's capital, Washington, DC, as one-quarter of the exotic, landscape quartet along with the far-flung destinations of Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, Mr. Brown has the reader traveling the globe without ever having to leave the comfort of her bedroom slippers.
And true to form, the rockets glare and the fireworks explode off each page of this novel leaving me satiated, but still wanting more. From reading all five of Mr. Brown's novels, I have discovered that he is the master of the plot, moving the story along seamlessly with grace and detail, and the skill of the masters of his time. He had me chomping at the bit to know what was going to happen next.
The book has something for everyone. With a flair for the dramatic and penchant for sniffing out percolating controversy, Don Brown keeps the reader on the edge of his seat. Gentleman readers will love the high-stakes action and the geopolitical implications. Although the author has a knack for seeing the future having predicted the 2008 shooting war between Russia and Georgia in his novel, Black Sea Affair, I hope his crystal ball is on the fritz this time around, and our country is safe from the any of his fictional fireworks.
As for the ladies, don't be fooled by political and military undertones. The author has brought back two popular characters from his first three books in The Navy Justice Series, Zack Brewer and Diane Colcernian, and the sexual tension between the two sizzles like the burgers and dogs on your grill. Happy 4th and enjoy this and all four other Don Brown novels. The Malacca Conspiracy Overview

Global Reset: A Suspense Novel ReviewGlobal Reset is an entertaining and suspenseful story filled with lots of action and interesting facts from around the world. Some of the characters could perhaps have been better developed but the book was nonetheless a great read. Less technobabble than the typical Clancy but the main character, Peter Walker, is more like Jack Ryan than a Bond/Ludlum hero. What I liked about the book was that Raybourne was able to write a suspenseful story without resorting to graphic language, violence and sex. The plot was also quite interesting and raised some potentially scary political scenarios. I read the last 150 pages - the best part of the book - in one sitting as I couldn't put the book down. The final scene was amazing. I strongly recommend Global Reset to readers who look for commercial entertainment and suspense in an international setting.Global Reset: A Suspense Novel OverviewIs it possible that one single individual could ultimatelydetermine the fate of our increasingly fragile planet? Explosive populationgrowth, a dramatic shift in the global economic equilibrium, acceleratingtechnology advancements, global warming, and escalating political, cultural andreligious tensions all contribute to making this world gradually more volatile.Could these terrifying and complex issues spark a catastrophic event that wouldset us back 200 years or more? Is it possible that the United States, perhapseven the White House, could somehow be the catalyst for such a horrifyingapocalypse? Raybourne explores this chilling scenario in his debutfiction thriller, Global Reset. Asoftware entrepreneur, Peter Walker, is unknowingly drawn into a treacherousmaze lined with murders, terrorism and high-tech sabotage, but does not realizehe is nothing but a pawn in much bigger plot designed to destabilize the world. He soon becomes the target of assassins and ultimately the entire U.S.government and, while desperately fighting to stay alive, travels the globe inan attempt to unravel the intricate web he finds himself trapped in. In theend, it is left to Peter to avert the imminent global Armageddon. Inspiration for the book came from the author's manytravels and provides the reader with a suspenseful and entertaining yetthought-provoking and interesting story. The exciting plot is set in a backdropof current global issues, domestic politics and high technology. Global Reset is a fast-paced suspensenovel that takes the reader on an electrifying journey filled with surprisingtwists and turns to every corner of the world. Please visit my web site www.nickraybourne.com for moreinformation.I hope youenjoy the book! -Nick

The Justice Game ReviewBased on a real-life case attorney Randy Singer tried ten years ago, The Justice Game artfully portrays both sides of the gun rights debate. Interestingly, Singer didn't set out to convert anyone. He told me, "I wanted to write a book so balanced that both sides would look at it and say, `That fairly represents our case.'"
The Justice Game opens in TV news reporter Rachel Crawford's point of view. A crazed gunman named Larry Jamison, the subject of a scathing news report, barges into the studio and shoots Rachel dead. The crime is clearly caught on film, but it's not the killer who ends up in court during The Justice Game. Rachel's grieving husband sues the manufacturer of Jamison's assault weapon for her wrongful death. He believes they are responsible since they knew the gun store who sold the weapon was known for illegal straw sales.
But this story isn't about Rachel as much as it's about young and ambitious defense attorney Jason Noble and up-and-coming prosecutor Kelly Starling. Both believe in their clients. Both are on top of their games. And both have pasts worthy of blackmail. Mix in the intriguing concept of a cutting edge company who predicts the outcome of trials for financial gain using shadow juries, and you have a true Randy Singer plot--full of delightful twists and turns you never saw coming.
Pay careful attention during the beginning chapters. Because so many of these concepts are unfamiliar, and many key players aren't introduced until later in the story, there's the potential for confusion. But there's also a great glimpse into the fascinating aspects of shadow juries and we come to understand why gun control is such a visceral issue to so many. At times you'll find yourself nodding in agreement with the defense as they present their case; then you'll empathize with the prosecution as they present theirs. Which just goes to show Singer has succeeded in what he set out to write--a novel that evenly presented both sides.
The Justice Game doesn't feel like an issue novel. We're never pounded over the head with its message. Instead, we're subtly led to our own conclusions as we examine the facts. Should a gun manufacturer be held responsible for a crime committed with one of their guns?
Before Singer finished writing The Justice Game a four minute interactive promotional video was created that presented the closing arguments of his fictional case. Then readers were asked to cast their vote on the verdict, and that would become the ending of the book. Their decision would be final. According to Randy the side that started out ahead stayed ahead.
Randy singer is one of the best Christian legal thriller writers out there in the purest sense. His complex plot spins and colorful, realistic characters combine to bring us a rich reading experience in The Justice Game.

Silent Prey ReviewDoctor Death is back. The serial killer Michael Bekker aka Doctor Death is back. After being arrested and beaten up by Lucas Davenport in a previous novel, Bekker escapes prison and sets himself up in New York. Bodies start turning up, and Davenport's ex-lover New York cop Lily Rothenburg calls to Davenport for help. He is not working with the Minneapolis Police anymore, but uses his time developing computer games. He welcomes the chance to work with Lily, and goes to New York. He soon finds out that Lily and her chief of Police O'Dell hsa a hidden agenda. Davenport is not called to New York only to solve the Bekker case, there is a "Robin Hood" on the loose in New York, killing "bad guys" and everything points to someone inside the police department. Davenport is asked to figure this mystery out, while he officially works solving the Bekker case.
The story is great, and the plot smart. Although you know who the killer is from page one, you keep guessing almost to the end, how does he do it, how does he manage to keep hiding? And who is the Robin Hood? Is it Lily herself, killing off bad guys from the streets of New York? There are many layers in this story, but it never becomes boring, and the characters are likeable or realistic. A good read in the Lucas Davenport series.Silent Prey Overview

Vanished ReviewWhat the hell has Roger Heller gotten himself into? Vanished, the latest thriller from Joe Finder opens with an attack on Lauren and Roger Heller as they are leaving a Georgetown restaurant. Lauren wakes up more than 24 hours later, badly concussed. Of Roger, there is no sign. In the interim, their 14-year-old son, Gabe, has called in his uncle, Nick, for help. It is Nick Heller, brother of Roger, who Finder is setting up to be the hero of a new series of novels.
He's made a good choice. Born to a life of extreme wealth--all of which was lost in a scandal--Nick gave up the pursuit of cash and joined the armed forces. Now he works as a private investigator for a high-end DC firm. He's tough, charismatic, and extremely competent. Nick Heller strikes me as a character that could go over equally well with both men and women.
Nick and Roger haven't been close in years, but Nick can't leave his only brother's disappearance entirely in the hands of the DC police. He begins his own investigation, while at the same time continuing to look into loose threads from his last work case. The deeper he digs into each, the more convoluted these two cases become. And the more enemies he seems to acquire.
Occasionally I thought I knew where Finder was going with his story, and occasionally I was right. More often I was wrong. A couple times I was completely stunned by a plot development. Joe Finder is definitely more clever than I am. Nick Heller is also more clever than I am, and the man really knows how to throw a punch. Fight scenes in the book were unusually interesting and well-written. Additionally, take it from a native Washingtonian that the DC setting was used with specificity and authenticity. (And observations like, "Washington, D.C., is to lying what Hershey, Pennsylvania, is to chocolate" made me smile.) Plenty of details that ring true do a lot to sell the whole story.
These days, I've got a litmus test for thrillers: Can I read it in a single day? Because it has relatively little to do with how many pages or how fast I read. It's all about a novel holding my interest for hours on end. Vanished passed with flying colors. It's not Finder's strongest work, but it's a good start to a new series.Vanished Overview

Wild Fire ReviewNelson DeMille's The Lion's Game is one of the best thrillers ever written, but Wild Fire lags far behind. If you are a DeMille fan, this may be exactly the thing you like, but it put me to sleep. First, there is no plot. From the book's dust jacket and early pages, you know that a wealthy oil man wants to wipe out the people of the Middle East by exploding black-market, nuclear bombs in two American cities, triggering a massive nuclear response onto the Middle East from the United States (Project Wild Fire). We know that it won't happen, so we already know that someone will stop it. Second, the book has endless conversation that drags on forever. Third, we again have Detective John Corey and FBI Agent Kate Mayfield investigating the case, but this is not the capable John Corey that we saw in The Lion's Game. This John Corey is a wisecracking buffoon, and an entire book of his one-liners becomes really tiresome. The story's end is exciting and ties up loose ends nicely. This is the first time that I did not like a DeMille book, but I suspect that his next will create the usual excitement.Wild Fire Overview

Screenshot ReviewThis is an interesting new take on the use of the Internet for evil -
pay-per-view murder. A brilliant and rich entrepreneur calling himself
Screenshot sets up assassinations using remote-controlled weapons,
and his targets are people we'd all like to see dead, like terrorists
and skinheads. He then charges admission to see it happen, live on
your computer. The only way to track him through the veil of Internet
anonymity are the theories of a crazy scientist, and the only people
who believe him are a disgruntled FBI computer geek and an
investigative reporter.
These two team with the scientist, and are soon targets of Screenshot
and wanted by the FBI as suspects themselves. The technology sounds
plausible, and the weapons are really weird, including a liquid taser
called the Pediphryer, used on, you guessed it, a pedophile. The story
moves rapidly, especially when the good guys become the targets,
running from the FBI while trying to avoid Screenshot's new weapon
aimed at them. And the ending is a table-turner.
I'd recommend it, especially if you like techno-thrillers.

One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, No. 1) ReviewWhat a book. This was hilariously funny. Stephanie Plum is from NJ and having some money problems. Sold her furniture, her car has gotten repo and next she will be needing a place to live if she doesn't come up with an idea fast. She goes to see her cousin Vinnie ( Bail bondsman ) looking for a job. The job had just been filled but the bounty hunter he used was having surgery. Stephanie, newly employed as bounty hunter. After all you get 10% and she would get 10k for bringing Joe Morelli in. Joe is a former cop and is running from Murder One. Stephaine and Joe do go back to growing up. This was a great book! Very funny, Ms. Evanovich really has a gift for writing a story in a very refreshing way! The " who done it " I couldn't tell until it happened. The pages just kept turning as the characters were very real, and enjoyable! I can't wait to read the next one!One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, No. 1) Overview

Desperation Moon ReviewIn DESPERATION MOON Ken Douglas provides his readers with one of the most despicable bad guys I've come across in a long time. I'm talking about Rice, the aids infected kidnapper of two young girls, who somehow doesn't think he's a pervert, when he so obviously is. Rice is hired by Huntington Beach police officer Clay Tredway to kidnap his wife Sara Hackett's niece along with the daughter of a wealthy software developer.
Sara is a racecar driver and when she comes home early from a race in Australia, she finds a pregnant woman in her house. Apparently hubby Clay is a philanderer as well as a kidnapper. Soon after she finds out about the kidnapping, she figures out what a weasel her husband really is. She sets out to rescue the two girls. But Clay doesn't make it easy for her. He frames her for the murder of the software guy and now she is on the run even as she's running to save the girls.

The CEO ReviewI don't know who wrote the great reviews. The book is dreadful. If you can suspend disbelief and not get annoyed by things like 'shaking his head' when the writer means 'nodding his head', and someone putting mascara on their face to cover up bruising (lol), and the lust every character has for killing everyone, and the total incompetence of professional law enforcers and supposed top notch security guys, and the shallow characters - then you might be able to stomach it.
Not recommended. The CEO Overview"The CEO" is a fast paced corporate thriller of loves come and gone, innovation, resilience, corporate philanthropy, vision, and deception. Corporate business leaders are protected by their own small armies of private security whose power will surprise. The story takes the reader behind the scenes and into the back office meetings of both corporations and countries; travelling from Denver to New York to London to Bogota and to Paris. As Mitch and his team of loyalists' race against time they are faced with constant revelation of threats against the company and those involved; including the life of the woman that Mitch falls deeply in love with. The depth of the plot reveals a 200 year old secret between two of the world's most powerful countries. If the secret is revealed it could destroy the balance of power in the world. Though, if the secret stays protected it could crush all that Mitch Jacobs desires. Although Mitch Jacobs never questions his ability to conquer the current forces against him, it is a race to answer the questions:Will Mitch be able to discover who is leading the attack on him before it is too late?Is this conspiracy the result of the usual corporate competition or does it emanate from the power hungry executives in his company? What interest do certain world leaders have in this plot that will destroy all that Mitch has built? Most important Mitch has fallen in love with two women whose essence and similarities (and differences) of character lead him on his mission

No Place to Run ReviewThomas B. Sawyer has such an inventive way with conspiracy novels they
leave the reader wondering if he made the whole thing up or if it
might just have happened that way.
NO PLACE TO RUN's opening lines:
***
There it was again.
Ticka-ticka-ticka-ticka...
He stopped breathing.
Then, almost as quickly as they had come the noises diminished,
vanished. He exhaled. His pulse began to slow. Once again, the loudest
sound in the murky foyer was his heartbeat.
A rat, probably. As frightened as I am. Strike that. Not even close.
Bill Lawrence realized he'd lost count.
His fear bordered on terror. Not of getting caught--he was here, after
all, with the tenant's permission. At his request, actually. Nor was
it the singularity of what he was doing. Skulking on his hands and
knees in dark places was well outside Bill's normal professional
activities.
***
You might assume from the riveting first pages that Bill Lawrence is
the protagonist. You might be right. You might be wrong. Things are
not always what they seem in this Byzantine tale of the discovery of
certain facts about the events leading to 9/11 - and the desperate,
damn-the-costs attempt to prevent them from emerging.
What rogue federal agents do to protect a powerful Washington figure
with a connection to the terror attacks of 9/11 makes for nasty
business. Sawyer brings it down to human levels with a 24 year-old
sister and her young brother running for their lives, trusting no one,
not even the agent intent on saving them, as they try to solve the
cryptic evidence uncovered by their father.
The 12-year-old brother, who has made a science of outwitting adults,
adds a humorous note to this nail-biting, stomach-churning story.
Sawyer is a TV/film veteran and it shows in the quick cuts from scene
to scene, with no wasted motion. The first few chapters are like the
opening of a suspenseful movie. People appear and disappear with only
the briefest of introduction or explanation. There are visuals -
scraps of scratch-paper notes and news clips.
Along about page 50 the story stretches out a little with a bit of
back story. But don't get comfortable. The whole thing blows up with a
shocking twist, and takes off in a different, unexpected direction.
The great director Alfred Hitchcock described a McGuffin as "the mechanical element that usually crops up in any story. In crook stories it is almost always the necklace and in spy stories it is most always the papers."
Here, it's the papers. Draw your own conclusions. Sawyer's McGuffin propels the plot right up to the surprise ending.
NO PLACE TO RUN is an exciting, satisfying, thought-provoking stomach-churner, one worth staying up late to finish.
No Place to Run OverviewAttorney Bill Lawrence's hitman client unloads a bombshell that will change history: evidence of a murder he committed on September 11, 2001. After finding the explosive documents, Bill immediately enters his family into the witness protection program, much to the dismay of his 24-year-old daughter, Claudia, who's not thrilled about being uprooted from her job and her boyfriend. But the next morning her parents are killed by a car bomb, the hitman is murdered in his cell, and Claudia is accused of her parents' murder. She and her 12-year-old brother, Adam, become fugitives, running from the police and the rogue FBI agents who want them dead. Their only hope of survival is to find the evidence her father possessed, and she and Adam are led on a cross-country quest that eventually lands them on a Chesapeake Bay estate. There, in an ultra-tense climax, Claudia finally deciphers the ugly secret behind 9/11. Will she live to tell about it?

End of State: Now All the Rules Have Changed (Left Behind Political) ReviewLike the Left Behind series, End of State is an easy read, that clearly spells out likely events of the last days of a world where Christians have disappeared, and the Devil and his legions are given free reign. Focusing on the United States, Ness examines how people here might interpret the disappearances and the rise of an evil Antichrist figure. As the plot progresses, a small band of characters come together. They realize that the premillenial rapture and coming Great Tribulation are upon them, and that they must do what they can in their positions of political influence to spread the Christian story to as many as possible.
I am a Christian with an interest in current affairs and politics, so I had high hopes for this off-shoot of Left Behind. The book has a decent plot and interesting characters. However, people seemed to spend a lot of time talking about what was happening. The pacing was generally sluggish, with short bursts of action, followed by lengthy analayses.
The audience for this book appears different from Left Behind. Ness spends much time exploring the inner struggles of church people who tagged along with believers, but never converted until after the Rapture. Non-Christians, who have been drawn to Left Behind for its action-oriented and simple explications of the end times, may find it much harder to relate to End of State.
Bottom-line: This is a solid, well-written end times novel, best suited for Christians who have always wondered, "Just how will people react to the Rapture--especially church people who never became true believers?" Those wishing to introduce non-Christians to End Times ideas would do better to stick with Left Behind, or perhaps Apocalypse Dawn.End of State: Now All the Rules Have Changed (Left Behind Political) OverviewFrom the back rooms of the U.S. government to the world stage of the United Nations, End of State explores the world of politics and government as it is changed forever by the Rapture.
This new series, combining the explosiveness of the Left Behind universe with the immediacy of West Wing-style political thrills, takes the Rapture and ratchets up the tension to a fever pitch. Written by political insider Neesa Hart, who has won prestigious awards both for her writing and for her youth ministry in churches across America.
