Outcome, A Novel: There's more than a hurricane coming ... ReviewThis story had a nice interplay of various people and events which made me think of the movie Crash where multiple lives collide. Lots of variety here: a spunky pilot, a diligent doctor, a surprising surgeon, the grief of a police officer, a great dog, etc. I was hooked from the start with the double whammy of an aborted small plane takeoff and a woman and her dog racing against time to get off their beach. The dog is as personable as this author's dog in her last book and his plight as warmhearted. Nice read (and I learned some things!)Outcome, A Novel: There's more than a hurricane coming ... But up ahead, Karen has more to fear than the monstrous storm behind her. A week later, tension mounts in a cockpit in Kentucky and the weatherworsens. A feisty female pilot aborts her unusual takeoff, jeopardizingher passenger's task to harvest a comatose woman's organs fortransplant. Plagued with the Gulf Coast aftermath, a policeofficer is riddled with grief. In Peru, a worried husband receivesdreadful news and in Indiana, a deserving woman is given a secondchance. And in the seriousness of an operating room, an astuteanesthesiologist works behind the scenes while a surgeon is nearlynegligent. As divergent lives come together after Karen'saccident, they impact each other in permanent, intense, and heartfeltways, especially two college students whose paths cross due to theirmothers' fates. Together the teens discover true love, face thehurricane's devastation, and yearn to find the battered dog who escapedthe crushed metal pile into the blowing sand and gusty winds.
