Flurries: A Zapstone New Voices Holiday Collection ReviewThis holiday themed anthology promises romances which feature women at various stages in their lives, what it delivers is mostly holiday tales with just the promise of romance but I was enchanted with more than half of the stories in this collection.
"Once Upon a Flight Delay" by Mary Compton ~ Fate brings two stranded travelers together while snowbound in an airport at Thanksgiving, when flights resume will geography keep them apart? I really enjoyed this one and was charmed by the pair's quick and quirky connection, I was really hoping they'd find a way back to each other somehow.
"Snowbound" by Claire Taylor Allen ~ When a snow storm shuts down all the roads out of town keeping a student from making it home for Christmas, she reconnects with an old friend living in the city ~ I always enjoy friends who discover that they can be more, and liked how the heroine's forced Christmas away from home ended up being a meaningful and memorable one.
"Bringer of Gifts" by Ryl Regehr ~ A woman accompanies a mysterious gift giver who has just what you need if you are 'ready' to receive it ~ Sprinkled with a bit of Christmas magic, I was hoping that Nick would get to keep his present.
"Where We Love" by Ronda Russell ~ A couple living overseas try to keep connected to the family they left behind ~ This was the least focused of the stories, though the couple's love for each other and for their families shone through.
"In Hiding" by Lelani Dixon ~ A witness in hiding is attracted to her handsome protector ~ Even though there was a pretty big shock at the start, I enjoyed this story all the way up to right before the ending when the hero glitches - some serious groveling was needed - this was the spiciest of the romances in the collection and would have been right at home in many a mainsteam romance anthology.Flurries: A Zapstone New Voices Holiday Collection OverviewZapstone Productions LLC introduces five new, unique voices in fiction. So get cozy and let these tales spice up your holidays--no shoveling needed! Be the first to enjoy these five tales of romance and romantic suspense by debut authors.Mary Compton: A Thanksgiving snowstorm results in a serendipitous encounter in "Once Upon a Flight Delay".Claire Taylor Allen: Being stuck in Boston might not be all that bad for two displaced New Yorkers in "Snowbound".Ryl Regehr: Gift-giving is difficult for most, but a mysterious stranger seems to know the perfect present in "Bringer of Gifts".Ronda Russell:In "Where We Love", a young couple worries that being so far from their families will ruin the holidays.Lelani Dixon: The holiday season is more than crazy... it's deadly in the romantic suspense novella, "In Hiding".

Transported: Erotic Travel Tales Review"Schiphol means "ship hole" in Dutch. There used to be a lake where the airport stands - six miles southwest of Amsterdam - a lake that swallowed ships."
Like the ships once lost in this lake, Schiphol sucks the reader into the first stop on Transported's erotic around the world journey. If you're looking for colorful destinations and exotic adventures, you'll find them. From The Netherlands to Japan, on a cross-country train trip in the United States and a business travel retreat in Alaska, the settings are as varied as the sex.
Yet the real lure of this collection lies in the inner journeys taken by the characters. In Onsen, a woman struggles to reconnect with her lover. Flaws, my personal favorite, chronicles how a chance encounter on a train causes the main character to look beyond her imperfections and learn to value the whole of what she is. A couple deals with a woman's fear of flying during In Flight. Another explores how even a brief connection can rekindle bonds in Layover.
Transported delivers much like a good honeymoon: plenty of good scenery, plenty of romantic exploration, and most of all, plenty of good sex. Highly recommended.
Transported: Erotic Travel Tales OverviewSomething about traveling can bring your blood to the boil: Is it the exotic locales? The chance encounters with attractive strangers? The break from the routine? These nine sizzling tales of love and lust on the move capture a few of these scenarios: A single woman, wandering the dusty corridors of an old bookstore, runs across a book of erotic woodcuts... and a man with like interests. A slide presentation at an Alaska hotel has some of the guests squirming. A long train ride offers a young woman a chance to examine how she truly feels about her body ... with two other passengers. Two lovers on a business trip to Japan confront their problems and their passions in a steamy outdoor bath. A man on a layover makes excellent use of his downtime. Told from both male and female points of view, Sharazade's inventive stories of goings and ... well, you know ... will have you at the edge of your window seat, spinning your own fantasies about the unexplored potential of planes, trains, and hotels.

The Voluntary Traveler: Adventures from the Road Best Traveled ReviewThere is a new and growing trend. Men and women leaving their homes for vacations that will take them to other lands and other peoples. Then instead of simply seeing the sights, they participate in directly helping those communities by volunteering their labor and expertise to accomplish whatever tasks are needed to elevate the standard of living and/or the quality of life for the people who reside there. In "The Voluntary Traveler: Adventures From The Road Best Traveled", Nola Lee Kelsey has compiled and edited the personal stories of more than twenty men and women who have engaged in traveling around the globe to become more than simple tourists, participating in helping, often through the focus of a charitable organization, those communities they have visited. As 'volunteer travelers', their personal service brought memories and feelings of accomplishment that ordinary tourists and recreational visitors could never know. From Thailand, India, South Africa, and the Marshall Islands, to Mexico, Romania, Nepal, and Cambodia, these are personal stories that illustrate and exemplify what volunteer travel is all about. Of special note is the final section profusely listing additional volunteer organizations, resources, opportunities, and more. For anyone seeking adventure beyond their own local communities and ordinary lives, reading "The Voluntary Traveler" can be the first step towards making a difference when and while journeying to anywhere else in the world. The Voluntary Traveler: Adventures from the Road Best Traveled OverviewPart anthology and part travel guide, this book opens new worlds through intriguing real-life stories by travelers who have walked the walk of volunteer travel. The collection also includes a detailed volunteer guidebook section, listing charities needing volunteer assistance and organizations coordinating service-oriented travel.

Ursa Major ReviewMs. Winter is a good story teller. I enjoyed this book. I bought the print copy 1st and shortly after that the Kindle was gifted to me, so I bought the Kindle version of it and donated the paper version to my public library. The characters were well written and the story had great depth. I had a few moments while reading it that I thought it was too intense, but I continued on with the book because the story was worth it! The heroine wasn't an idiot, she was able to hold her own in this story. I liked it very much.Ursa Major OverviewSarah Doyle's job sends her to the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge to write an honest report about oil drilling. Her firm hires Liam Phillips, a man who will do anything to save his home and keep his secret safe. Liam is Homo Interans, a separate race from humans with the ability to shift into animals. The remote countryside keeps his people hidden. It's their refuge and their home. It doesn't take much for Sarah to fall completely in love with Alaska. However, pressures back in Washington DC are mounting. She doesn't have much time. And when her sister's job is threatened, Sarah realizes political machinations could derail her report before it's even written. She has to persevere for her own peace of mind, for an entire ecosystem, and for the man she loves, a man who has the ability to shift into a grizzly bear.
