The Division ReviewA summary of the plot, content, etc. of The Decision can be read in thr "Editorial Review" included on this site. For myself the Decision was a pleasure to read as its content is enjoyable, informative and instructive as to the Abrahamic religions of the world...Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The author's life-long study of religion and his career in the legal profession combine to afford the reader a very easy-to-read, intriguing novel as there are no hanging questions as to meanings or explanations of any of the book's subject matter.
The main characters are strong and well-suited to their respective parts, especially Jonathan, Catherine, the Rabbi and the Muslim, Bashir. But it seemed all the minor characters were just as impressive, and they were numerous. The book's early setting is in one of America's most unique cities, Charleston, SC. But a majority of the setting is in the Middle East, especially Israel, where the "Dome of the Rock" is a major attraction and is the location for the final outcome of The Decision. The Middle East allows the author to disclose his vast knowledge of relevant histories, meanings and present-day realities of the Abrahamic religions.
The Decision is packed with action and intrigue and has a happy ending. But in today's real world, as we in America have seen, anything can happen. That is why the opinion here is that The Decision could be made into a very informative and action packed cinematic thriller as a cinematic production. Such a production may make us all more religiously tolerant.
J.Collins Louisville, KYThe Division OverviewImagine a plot devised to trigger the catastrophic Armageddon as prophesized in the Bible. In The Division, by Jerry W. Amos, readers find an edge-of-their-seat thriller that combines religious history, terrorism, and the complexities of modern-day geopolitics in one fascinating novel. When James Paulson learns that he's dying, he travels to Old Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, where a stranger hands him a manuscript and is immediately murdered. Paulson carries the book home and puts it aside. When he dies, his will requests that his daughter, Catherine, pursue this mystery. Along with attorney Jonathan Keller, she enters a world fraught with danger, in which terrorist plots are brewing and three representatives of the Abrahamic religions-a Jew, a Christian, and a Muslim-conspire together to bring off this disaster. But first, they must find this manuscript. With time running out, devastation in the making, and peace in the balance, answers must be found and villains must be stopped.
