The Life of Lotus Flower ReviewThis book was not what I expected it to be, meaning there were a lot of twists and turns throughout the book. Some of the events that happen are shocking, sad, happy and even funny. It was very interesting to see what an individual has gone through in life.The Life of Lotus Flower OverviewThe book Life of Lotus Flower is about her life as she grew up in an upper-middle-class family in India and got married to a United States Marine whom she met in New Delhi, India. She traveled to the United States to form a life for herself in this new country, not knowing what to expect. Through the trials and tribulations of living in a foreign land, she got to finally love her new country, the United States of America. After spending nine years on the east coast, traveling around the country with her military husband, and experiencing the birth of her two sons, she finally arrives in the Bay Area to make a life for herself and her children, away from her ex-husband. Since 1981, when she arrived here, she has had a great life and would not live anywhere else in the country. The beginning of the book depicts history in the making: when India divided into two countries, Pakistan and India, before her birth and the bloodshed that took place in the aftermath. Life of the Lotus Flower contains laughter, sorrow, and the author's true and deepest innermost feelings and beliefs.
